Judith Pearson, Family Office, and Trustee liability Group Leader with Woodruff Sawyer, will discuss fiduciary E&O insurance and the California E&O insurance market. She will discuss what to look for when applying for insurance, what insurance policy features and riders one should have (or not), the differences in current providers’ offerings, and how the market is evolving.

Judith Pearson Judith is a seasoned insurance and risk management expert who leads the Family Office & Trustee Liability Resource Group at Woodruff Sawyer. Trust laws and structures are changing, complex, and contradictory, creating fiduciary responsibility and personal liability. Judith educates trustees and other fiduciaries to reduce risk and implements insurance solutions to protect personal wealth and family legacies. Her clients range from individual and professional trustees, trust companies, law firms, and CPAs as well as family offices and private trust companies.

Judith is a frequent speaker at trust and estate forums and the American Banking Association (ABA) Trust School, She has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, The Economist, Chicago Sun Times, LA Times, and Art and Auction Magazine and has written articles for magazines Trust & Estates, Wealth Management, and Estate Planning. Judith is a past president of ARIS Title Insurance Corporation, which was formed under her direction to provide title insurance for fine art and other important collectibles. While leading ARIS, she was named one of the “2015 Power of 100 Leaders” in the art world by Blouin/Art info International for her role as an insurance innovator.

Judith’s background includes serving as founder and CEO of Nomadx Solutions, LLC, which provided risk management solutions to fiduciaries. She was also senior executive vice president of AON’s Financial Services Group and its intellectual property division, and held underwriting management positions at AIG and Chubb, where she specialized in intellectual property liability, directors & officers’ liability, fidelity and similar coverage forms and underwriting for US-based Fortune 500 and equivalent foreign-based corporations.
