About the Course

A presentation and conversation about a very difficult case that brings in every difficult aspect that conservators will ever have to deal with. This presentation will discuss a conservatorship of a young man who has severe medical and behavioral problems, his family who was not allowed to be his conservator but, insist they are the only people that know how to take care of their son and constantly threaten to sue the conservator especially if their child dies. Both parents have mental health and substance abuse issues. What to do when the hospital is sick of having the client in their facility and the discharge planner is charged with discharging client without proper supports in place. What to do when there is no placement is available for client anywhere in the state. When should the conservator realize that they don’t need to accept the constant abuse from family and friends and should resign. The court can be your friend and support.
