Fiduciaries and the Web
By Lisa Berg

A website that I though would be useful to fiduciaries is www.healthfinder.gov which is designed to provide resources for self-help and support groups.

Other websites for drug information, that I found in the Geriatric Care Manager Journal, is helpful when trying to get the latest information when a new prescribed drugs is given to our clients.

The Journal writes: Martindales is probably the most valuable single drug information resource to go through. www.sci.lib.uci.edu/

www.rxlist.com contains infor-mation about FDA approved, or products close to approval, in the U.S.  Gives brand and generic names for medications, medical problems for which they might be used, and information on side effects and drug interactions.

www.healthtouch.com get information from MediSpan and contains extensive information about drug indications, side effects, and general information on over 7,000 over-the-counter and prescription medications.

www.centerwatch.com lists new drug therapies approved by the FDA in the past three years.  Also describes clinical trials, including information for those who might be interested in participating in studies.

Many drug companies maintain sites that will lead you to approved prescribing information about medications. Just search on a particular companies name.  For example www.Merck.com or www.pfizer.com
